Description

All customers, including children and infants, are required to personally submit their Schengen visa application on their scheduled appointment date.

Customers who plan to travel solely for tourist purposes, such as leisure, recreation, or sightseeing, and will arrange their own accommodation (hotel, hostel, B&B, camping, etc.), should apply as tourists.

Eligibility:

To be eligible to submit a Schengen visa application, customers must meet the following criteria:

  1. Possess a valid passport or travel document.
  2. Hold a valid UK residence permit. If the customer holds a short stay visa for the UK (C type visa), a Schengen visa application can only be accepted for essential travel purposes (business, study, family reunification, health or humanitarian reasons, and EU family members accompanying the corresponding family member), subject to analysis by the Mission.
  3. Apply for a short stay visa under the categories of tourist (including minors), visitor family/friends, business, EEA/EU and Swiss national family member, or airport transit.

Jurisdiction:

Customers residing in the following counties fall under the jurisdiction of the Consulate of Spain in London & Manchester. They can only submit their visa application at the Spain Visa Application Centre in London & Manchester, which serves as the outsourced representative for the Consulate of Spain in London & Manchester. Please click on the provided link for a list of these counties.

Documents Required

Please take note that all of the required documentation listed in the Checklist is mandatory for all applicants, regardless of whether flights, accommodation, insurance, or other arrangements are made by the applicant’s employer, travel companies, or any other entities. In the case of a family application, each family member must provide their own individual documents. It is important to emphasize that every applicant submitting documents at the Spain Visa Application Centre must attend an appointment in person, including children under the age of 12.

Please ensure that you provide photocopies of all original documents, including your passport (bio page), UK visa/BRP card/UK stamp, previous Schengen visas, and any other relevant documents. It is worth noting that the Spanish Consulate may request additional documents if necessary.

It is crucial to avoid stapling any documents, and all documents must be in either English or Spanish. If translation into Spanish is required, it must be done by a certified and professional translator. Please refer to the “Processing Time” section.

Once your application is forwarded to the Consulate, they may request further documentation or make additional inquiries in order to process your application.

During the processing time, your passport will be securely held by the Consulate. It is only possible to withdraw your passport by submitting a written request signed by yourself. This request will then be forwarded to the Consulate, and your passport will be returned to you. Please note that passports cannot be directly withdrawn from the Consulate.

All decisions regarding the issuance of visas, including their duration and number of entries, are solely at the discretion of the Spanish Consulate General in London. It is important to understand that applicants are not permitted to apply by post.

Photo Specification

Please submit one current color portrait of yourself that is no older than six months that satisfies the conditions listed below:

  • Captured on a light background (white or off-white) to make features stand out and contrast with the background.
  • Face-focused and of high clarity
  • Full face: not grinning, no sunglasses, no hats or other head coverings, unless the applicant is wearing them due to his or her ethnicity or religion.
  • Printed from a camera print on standard photographic paper.
  • The photo that is adhered to the visa application form

The visa application will be deemed incomplete if the submitted photos don’t fulfill these specifications (see examples here), and the applicant will be asked to take fresh pictures in the photo booth at the visa application center.
