Description
In order to be eligible to submit a Schengen visa application, customers must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a valid passport or travel document.
- Hold a valid UK residence permit. If the applicant holds a short stay visa for the UK (C type visa), they must apply for a Schengen visa from their country of residence. However, if there is a valid reason for not applying in their residence country (e.g., no French mission or an urgent situation arises during their stay in the UK, such as a new business trip or serious illness of a relative in France), they may apply at any French mission outside their residence country. Please note that written confirmation from a doctor or hospital in France is required in the case of a serious illness.
- Apply for a short stay visa for purposes such as tourism, visiting family and friends, attending conferences (including minors), business, or as an EEA/EU family member.
Minors:
Customers who have not yet reached the age of 18 when submitting a Schengen visa application (EEA/EU family member) should take note of the following information.
In accordance with European legislation aimed at safeguarding the welfare of children, it is crucial to emphasize that minors who fail to provide all the necessary documents may not be granted a Schengen visa.
Documents Required
Please note that the list of documents provided below is not exhaustive, and the applicant may be asked to provide additional information or documents if requested by the Mission.
Both the standard documentation and supporting documentation must be recent, meaning they should not be older than one month. These documents must be provided for every Schengen visa application.
Applicants are required to bring and present their original documents during the application process. However, they only need to submit photocopies of the same, unless the requirements specifically state that an original document must be submitted.
Before gathering the necessary documents listed below, we strongly advise applicants to carefully read the requirements outlined in the Overview section. This will ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria for the chosen visa category.

Additionally, the passport must have been issued within the last 10 years on the day of departure from the Schengen Area.
Please note that while an extended passport may still be valid, if it is older than 10 years, it is no longer acceptable. In such cases, the customer must first apply for a new passport.
Please include photocopies of any previous Schengen visas endorsed in your old passport and issued within the last three years, if applicable.

Additionally, it is necessary to provide a valid UK Residence permit, either endorsed in your passport or issued as a Biometrics card. This permit must be valid for at least one month beyond the return date of your trip to the Schengen Area. If you hold a C-type visitor visa. Processing time
Customers are advised to submit their Schengen visa applications up to six months before their intended travel date to the Schengen Area.
Please take note of the following:
The processing time for applications starts only upon the Embassy receiving the required documents.
To ensure a smooth process, applications must be submitted at least 15 calendar days before the intended travel date (as mentioned above) and can be submitted up to six months in advance. Failure to adhere to these deadlines may result in the Embassy deeming your application inadmissible. In such cases, your visa application will not be processed, and your passport will be promptly returned to you.
