Description

Every applicant, including children and infants, must personally submit their Schengen visa application on their scheduled appointment date.

Minors are individuals under the age of 18 when submitting a Schengen visa application for purposes such as tourism, visiting family or friends, being a family member of an EEA/EU or Swiss national, or airport transit.

Therefore, minors must provide the following additional documents:

  1. Child’s unabridged/full birth certificate displaying the names of both biological parents.
  2. Written consent (signed and dated) from both the mother and father listed on the child’s birth certificate.
  3. Copies of both parents’ passport bio page and signature page, if the signature is not on the bio page.
  4. In the case of divorce or the death of one parent, a court order confirming sole custody or the deceased parent’s certificate, respectively.
  5. If a guardian has been appointed by the parents, a guardianship letter along with copies of the guardian’s passport bio page and signature page, if the signature is not on the bio page.

It is important to note that due to European legislation regarding the protection of children/minors, minors who fail to provide all the required documents may not be granted a Schengen visa.

Eligibility

To be eligible to submit a Schengen visa application, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Possess a valid passport or travel document.
  2. Hold a valid UK residence permit. If the applicant holds a short-stay visa for the UK (C-type visa), they must apply for a Schengen visa from their country of residence.
  3. Apply for a short-stay visa for purposes such as tourism (including minors), visiting family or friends, business, being a family member of an EEA/EU or Swiss national, or airport transit.
