Description
Please note: Denmark no longer represents Iceland for visa applications in the UK. For Iceland visa applications, please refer to the following link.
For non-EU citizens who are unsure whether a Schengen visa is required to travel to the Schengen Area, please click on “Do I need a visa?” to find out.
Eligibility:
In order to be eligible to submit a Schengen visa application, customers must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a valid passport or travel document.
- Hold a valid UK residence permit. If the applicant holds a short stay visa for the UK (C type visa), they must apply for a Schengen visa from their country of residence. However, if there is a valid reason for not applying in their residence country (e.g., no Danish mission or an urgent situation arises during their stay in the UK, such as a new business trip or serious illness of a relative in Denmark), they may apply at any Danish mission outside their residence country. Please note that written confirmation from a doctor or hospital in Denmark is required in the case of a serious illness.
- Apply for a short stay visa for purposes such as tourism, visiting family and friends, attending conferences (including minors), business, or as an EEA/EU family member.
For EEA/EU national family members (including minors), customers intending to travel to Denmark need to check the visa requirements at the provided link.
We strive to provide a professional and efficient service to our customers. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Minors:
Customers who have not yet reached the age of 18 when submitting a Schengen visa application (EEA/EU family member) should take note of the following information.
In accordance with European legislation aimed at safeguarding the welfare of children, it is crucial to emphasize that minors who fail to provide all the necessary documents may not be granted a Schengen visa.
Documents Required
Please ensure that you print this Checklist and prepare the necessary documents accordingly. Additionally, please prepare an extra copy of your Passport ID page for Passport Collection.
In addition to the documents listed on the checklist, all customers are required to provide the following:
– A color copy of their British resident permit.
– If you are submitting any birth or marriage certificates, please provide both a color copy and the original certificate/s. The original certificate/s will be returned to you once they have been verified.
– You are also required to submit all of your previous passports for the application.
Please note the following:
– It is important to ensure that your application contains accurate and complete information. All information must be correct and reflect your planned trip.
– If any document is missing on the submission date, additional documents can only be submitted by customers themselves at the embassy within 5 business days.
– Customers may be asked for additional documents or called for an interview if deemed necessary by the Embassy.
– Please visit the Danish Embassy’s New to Denmark Website for further information regarding the required documents.
Photo Specification
Please submit one current color portrait of yourself that is no older than six months that satisfies the conditions listed below:
- Captured on a light background (white or off-white) to make features stand out and contrast with the background.
- Face-focused and of high clarity
- Full face: not grinning, no sunglasses, no hats or other head coverings, unless the applicant is wearing them due to his or her ethnicity or religion.
- Printed from a camera print on standard photographic paper.
- The photo that is adhered to the visa application form
The visa application will be deemed incomplete if the submitted photos don’t fulfill these specifications (see examples here), and the applicant will be asked to take fresh pictures in the photo booth at the visa application center.
Processing time
Customers are advised that they can submit their Schengen visa application up to six months prior to their intended travel date to the Schengen Area.
Please take note of the following:
The processing time for the application will commence only upon receipt of the necessary documents by the Embassy.
To ensure a smooth process, it is essential to submit the application at least 15 calendar days before the intended travel date. However, please be aware that the application can be submitted as early as six months before the intended travel date. Failure to adhere to these deadlines may result in the Embassy deeming your application inadmissible. In such cases, your visa application will not be processed, and your passport will be promptly returned to you.
On average, the visa processing time is 15 calendar days. However, please be aware that this period may be extended up to 45 calendar days in situations where further scrutiny of the application is necessary or when it is forwarded to the Danish Immigration Service.
